To My Clients: The shorter version & a peek at the next era

I’ve written a longer version of this, because I think it will help you to understand a bit better about what went into making this very hard decision, but I know that reading novel-length drivel isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. For those that ARE interested, it's my most recent blog. If you read it already, you can skip to the bottom for a peek at the updated structure and pricing. More to come, but these are the basics. For the tl;dr version:

I am starting over. Fresh. I’ve scrapped my former business model and am welcoming in the next era of CDB. There are some services and ways of thinking that could not come along. You may no longer see some of your favorite services. You will see new pricing that reflects not only the quality of the products that I use but also my knowledge, skill set, and worth. My schedule will be more firm. Retail purchase options will be more streamlined. There will be more in person events and expanded virtual offerings as well.

I went to esthetics school a decade ago, but the learning did not stop there. I have taken continuing education very seriously and spend dozens of hours each month on courses, classes, webinars, summits, you name it. That doesn’t even take into account the business and personal development learning that I do, which I promise is extensive. I have made the decision to go back to college to study business in 2026, which I hope will help me take my own business to the next level in the future while also consulting for others. The new business structure goes hand in hand with this decision.

The unfortunate news-smaller, unprofitable services will no longer be able to be booked on their own. They will only be available in Combos. Sadly, that includes Brow Design. I know that this one is tough for so many of you. Brow Design is always in my top 3 of booked services each year. Unfortunately, they are not a profitable service- I do not approach brows from an amateur perspective. You’re not in and out in 5 minutes with half of your face ripped off. It’s a full 30 minute service, using high quality wax and my well trained eye. Small, low priced services prevent longer or more profitable services from being booked, and my business is not able to sustain the current iteration any longer. To be quite frank, there would be no way for me to keep my business going at this rate. I know that this will be upsetting so many of you and I hope that you can understand that this is a necessary change. I didn’t think it was appropriate to charge $60 for brows on their own, so I’ve created several new Combos to try and make this work for those who will be sticking with me for brows, but also keep my doors open.

I despise talking about these things, using terms like “profitable” or “streamlined.” My connections with you mean so much more than just money or business jargon. But the fact of the matter is, my business must make profit for me to be able to continue with it. And I feel that it’s not too much to expect that my profession can support me and my family. However, I know that many of you may have to make the choice to find a new home for your personal care services. I hope that you’ll stay connected on socials, pop into one of my free events or workshops, or just come grab some coffee with me. I’m always wishing the best for you and hoping that you succeed in life beyond your wildest expectations, and I hope that you wish the same for me. I am so grateful for you.
